SASSA Takes Services to Fernie Neighborhood

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.

SASSA will be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency explained it's alarmed with regard to the high number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The goal of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office devoted to service the area on a regular basis. The service position created for intervention activities a high influx of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it challenging to the Workplace to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional means to SRD enable the servicing of all clients and increase usage of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
